THE CLUB
The Streets of Fire Motorcycle Club Inc. is the
Country's oldest full time career firefighters Motorcycle club. Our club is
made up of Paid Firefighters from cities all over northern New Jersey. It's
members, aside from their common bond of firefighting, also have in common a
passion for motorcycling and being able to donate money and time to those in
need.
The Club's origins are in Newark, New Jersey,
where Newark Firefighter Steve Ciasullo along with a small group of
firefighters whom worked together and rode together started the club. Most
weekends in one would find them exploring the back roads of New Jersey and
it's surrounding states.
The club is probably most noted for the Annual
"Elvis Run", which will be 13 years old this September. Ironically
enough, the first Elvis Run was held in memory of one of our founding members,
Mike "Elvis" Delane, a Newark firefighter, who was killed in the
line of duty in 1994.
The Elvis Run is now not only in memory of
Mike, but in memory of the many Firefighter around our country that have made
the ultimate sacrifice.
The Annual "Elvis Run" has always
been held on the 2nd Sunday in September. After
9-11 many new Firefighter Clubs and Firefighter bike runs began to pop up, however
there is only one ORIGINAL and BEST!
The "Elvis Run" is a 40 mile
Firefighter and Police escorted ride, with an amazing amount of fire apparatus
along the ride route cheering on the 3000 plus motorcycles.
After a few years and many requests the club
opened its doors to career firefighters from all over northern New Jersey.
The current Club consists of firefighters,
captains and fire chiefs, active and retired. Some of the cities represented
are Newark, Clifton, East Orange, Millburn, Irvington, Jersey City, North
Hudson Regional and Englewood. Membership is always growing. The Club usually
rides each weekend and one night during the week, attending many local and
national events each year. They also host a variety of events and host a
weekly Bike Night throughout the year.
